Information sought about the Barbourville Brickyard and its employees.
The Knox Historical Museum is in need of photos and information concerning the Barbourville Brickyard from its inception in 1905 until its closing in 1957. The photos and/or information needed include:
1. People who worked or lived on the premises, including a description of the work and when performed;
2. Specific information related to the following people known to have worked at the Brickyard: S.B. Dishman, J.A. McDermitt, L.L. Richardson, James Richard (Dick) Bacon, Jackie Jones, Roy Henson, Enoch Smith, Bob Partin, and Josh Shupe. (Photos both on or off the Brickyard);
3. The Brick Plant, Pug Mill, Kilns, Yard, Steam/Power/Drag Line Shovel, Side Cars, Any Equipment;
4. Work being performed at the Plant, Yard or Ponds;
5. The Ponds at anytime before the extension of Allison Avenue through the Ponds; and
6. Houses and families who lived on the Brickyard premises.
