Kentucky History and Genealogy Network

There’s new website on the Web that should interest anyone interested in Kentucky history and/or genealogy.

It’s called the “Kentucky History and Genealogy Network” and can be accessed at the following address: kentuckyhgn.org.

Recent posts of interest to Knox Countians focus on the Gray and Lynn Camp communities.

The article about Gray and Rossland, Kentucky is titled “A Post Office, a Castle, a Judge, a Law Suit, a Louisville Capitalist and Brafford Store.”

The article about Lynn Camp, Kentucky is titled “Lynn Camp and Lynn Camp Station: Breaking the Myth.”

Links to both articles are listed at the end of this post. Both articles were authored by Marty Lain Wyatt, who also is one of the website’s administrators.

As stated in the organization’s “About Us” link on its home page: “The Kentucky History and Genealogy Network began with just a scant few groups on Facebook. Over time it has turned into a large network of groups and thousands of members dedicated to preserving the history, traditions and people of Kentucky. Many of our groups are special-interest and they range from folklore groups to Civil War and photography groups. . . .

“Even though we are not a professional organization, we are a team of volunteers who love history, genealogy, and being able to help others discover their family roots. Keep in mind that we do not offer paid services or charge any fees–it’s a passion for us, not a business.”
