Grocer and undertaker A.W. Hopper featured in Museum’s latest magazine

The new issue of the Museum’s quarterly magazine, The Knox Countian, features a businessman from a century ago who is still remembered. A.W. Hopper (1859 – 1941) was one of those pioneer merchants whose personality and business longevity kept his name alive in the annuals of Knox County, Kentucky history.

Also featured in the magazine are a genealogy article on the Frederick family; a dramatic presentation held during the Boone Festival on the life of Jemima Boone; a photograph of the Barbourville Civic League around 1905; the winners of the 2014 Susan Arthur Award: Peggy Kemner and Irma Gall; and the old Ketchen School and its teachers.
