Acquisitions – 2012 through September 2016

Acquisitions previously not reported to the public include the following:

  • May 2012: Steve Owens loaned the museum three boxes of papers, photos and memorabilia of the Black-Owens papers.
  • November 2012: Robert Stivers donated the large bell used in the Knox County Courthouse during the first half of the 20th century.
  • September 2014: Donnie Martin donated a 1938 yearbook of the local National Guard.
  • February 2016: Billy B. Cain donated the following items: an order book by A.W. Hopper (1916-17) plus an A.W. Hopper receipt form. Mr. Cain had received the books from David Browning who had acquired them from the Mitchell Theatre storage.
  • February 2016: John David King donated a sewing kit from the National Bank of John A. Black.
  • September 2016: Mary Gwen Davies Rothenberger donated a 48-star U.S. flag, a 1953 Union College Stespean, a ration book, an orginal $20 bill from the bank of John A. Black, and one small notebook containing Logan Hospital history.
